As a Search Ranking Engineer working on Search Quality and PersonalizaHon, you have the opportunity to work with world-class SoSware Engineers and Data ScienHsts who have worked for Google, Amazon, Pinterest, etc. You will define and solve hard problems to improve search quality, company-wide personalizaHon experience and
help us understand customer’s intenHon beYer. We aim at providing customers with a fricHon-less shopping experience and help customers find useful products that best meet their needs. Your professional skills and experience would help us achieve the goal.
What You Will Do:
1. Find headroom for improvement in Search as well as Query RecommendaHons and Product RecommendaHons through debugging. Design and deliver end-to-end soluHons to help customers find useful products that best meet their needs faster and easier. Iterate on the experiments to improve the conversions.
2. Leverage the state-of-art LLM and DNN technologies to solve various problems in mulH-lingual Search, including cross lingual retrieval, cold start, ranking with sparse data, etc.
3. Design and build customer/product/query understanding signals that capture customer’s behavior paYerns and shopping preferences, that can be shared across mulHple product areas to help improve the customer experience at Coupang.
Basic Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related majors
2. 6+ years of solid work with machine learning, nlp, data structures, fundamental algorithms and system design
3. At least 2 years hands-on experience with InformaHon Retrieval/Search/RecommendaHon Systems
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience on Depp Learning / LLM / mulH-lingual search engline.
2. Strong understanding of e-commerce and search/recommendaHon systems.
3. Ability to idenHfy headroom and opportuniHes in the system, analyze, simplify and solve problems
4. Passion of defining and developing a revoluHonary search engine
5. Self-moHvated, with good communicaHon skills and team play
6. Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science or related Engineering majors
