Studio Engineers work closely between Designers/Digital modelers and R&D/Suppliers. Take responsibility that technical solutions that can support design intentions.
Studio Engineer reports directly (solid line) into Studio Engineering manager China.
What you'll do
Responsible for self-development.
Represent Design within Business and Technical forums to secure Design intent.
Performs design/technical work and when needed packaging studies
Develop/modifies components with known and proven techniques within Design department
Technically secure all deliveries from Design
Drive and lead technical issues for the design department in technical meetings
Challenge R&D and initiate alternative technical studies to find the best possible technical solution to meet the Design intentions and Design Leadership.
Take responsibility for the feasibility of the digital surface model according to agreed maturity in the Design process.
Understand design sketches and be able to judge what technical solution that is needed to meet Design intentions.
Understand technical information from drawings and package models from R&D.
Clearly explain to the DSM modeler and Designer how to take care of technical hard points.
Track and report technical status at each design delivery
Actively follows technical development within technical area
Support with Geometry work for 3D print and physical model construction
What you'll bring
University Degree or equivalent 5-7 years’ experience in the functional area (Engineering),
candidates with experience both in OEM and supplier will be more competitive.
Good skills in related tools, eg Catia V5, TCE
Good level input/output knowledge of surrounding functions and processes
Good relationship, self-development, and communication skills
Good English/Both written and oral
Strong in relationships, own development, and strong communication skills.
Demonstrates technical expertise in relevant areas
Knowledge of automotive products, materials, and processes
Experience from various suppliers and their processes
Ability to create internal and external networks.
High quality focus and awareness of customer expectations and complaints
High quality focus and awareness of Automotive benchmarking information (competitor vehicles and technology).
