SOTIF Human Factors_Assistant Manager

SOTIF Human Factors is a mandatory part of ADAS function development, to avoid the foreseeable misuse of the driver, which has to be conducted from BMW internal requirements side and external standards/regulation side. With a comprehensive local Human Factors evaluation, the function development will be more fit for CN customers/market, and it is essential from company side to ensure product safety and product liability. The Expert need to have expertise of SOTIF Human factors and work for the ADAS CN local development, responsible for SOTIF SARA analysis, conduct customer studies, identify and evaluate functional risks, validate measures, and collaborates closely with CN ADAS function owner/dependability/validation and HMI teams. The Expert need to conduct data analysis of traffic/accident/study data, as well as accident research (especially ADAS relevant incidents).

Major Responsibilities:

Responsible for Safety Of The Intented Functionality (SOTIF in abbreviation) Human Factors development work in area of ADAS/HAD, conduct the SOTIF safety evaluations, for different feature clusters. Analyze and Evaluation of safety relevant functions according to ISO 21448

Responsible for establish/draft and conduct the Human Factors part within SARA (SOTIF Analysis and Risk Assessment): create human factors use cases, do risk evaluations on severity/controllability. Responsible for design and conduct human factors study during concept phase and validation phase.

Responsible for define Human Factors measures and validation strategy.

Carrying out accident analyses to feed back safety-critical events into system development

Responsible for divert the study results/research results into the SARA evaluations and implemented.

Responsible for cooperation with CN Human Factors partners like academic institutes/university, market research agency, driving simulator supplier etc.

Collaboration with system architects, function developers and safety teams

Monitoring current standards, guidelines and regulatory developments

Documentation and Presentation of results for internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications

Education / Degree: Diploma or Master’s degree preferred in automotive engineering, psychology, human factors, engineering with a focus on human factors or a comparable qualification

Experience in the area of ADAS/HAD development with focus on SOTIF/Human Factors/Psychology/HMI

Experience in the area of SOTIF (ISO/PAS 21448) in ADAS/HAD function development.

Experience in designing and carrying out customer studies.

Basic knowledge of traffic/accident data analysis and accident research (passive safety/active safety) using CIDAS or comparable database.

Highly self-motivated and ability to analyze complex technical contexts relevant to safety.

Business-fluent English, fluency in German is plus.

Analytic thinking, ability to work in a team and structured way of working

Confident and competent presentation and intercultural communication skills.

Initiative, personal accountability, willingness to change, team spirit, and self-reflection

Experience:

SOTIF (Human Factors) relevant work experience, has solid knowledge and experience lead development and implementation.

Experience of vehicle safety development and technical requirements

Experience of ADAS/AD or other E/E development projects

Relevant experience abroad or work in international environment (e.g. studies, practical experience, work & travel).
